I have always wanted to make Friends of Quinn as visual a site as possible since I have found people with learning differences are often visual learners. Ever since YouTube was released, I have learned that visual learners are everywhere.
So what that in mind, I am sharing a series of Friends of Quinn Visual Playlists on the FoQ YouTube channel and site.
Our first playlist focuses on dyslexia. Here are some highlights:
Assia Grazioli Venier talks about how her dyslexia causes her to see words—and the world—differently from most people. She also talks about how this ability to see the world differently has helped her thrive in her work with start-up companies.
Dr. Markus Gross gives a Tedx Talk about how he has worked to fight dyslexia with computer science and how he has been motivated by his own son’s dyslexia diagnosis.
The “J House Vlogs” family share that their daughter Elise has dyslexia, and Elise shares in her own words what it feels like to have dyslexia. Then her mom talks about how Elise has succeeded with dyslexia. One in a series of video blogs produced by this Kansas City family.
The Royal Society of Arts held a panel about how to improve reading skills in young children.
For a while I have had a YouTube playlist of videos that I have been collecting about dyslexia, and I look forward to sharing more with you. I hope this helps you guys and you all enjoy it. Stay tuned for more!
