True Blood Premier surprise

A couple of weeks ago, Pari, my wife, and I went to the True Blood Premier in Hollywood. It was our second year in a row. We are both huge fans of the show. We went to the after-party, as we did last year, and met Carrie Preston. Carrie Preston plays the red headed waitress on the show. We hadn’t met her last year and it turns out that she is a big fan of my fathers.
I forget exactly how the conversation started but something led Carrie Preston to say “Ben Bradlee saved our lives.” After what Carrie said about my dad, Pari then told her that “this is Ben Bradlee’s son” and Carrie couldn’t believe it. I then started to tell her about my life and growing up with learning differences, and told her about my book and this website.
People with learning differences tend to feel insecure, more so than others, and when a big actress like Carrie (from a show I’m obsessed with) was interested in me, it made me feel the exact opposite of insecure. At the end we exchanged contact information, which actually kind of made me feel important!
