Triumph/Screw Up Coat of Arms

For my birthday present I wanted a my own coat of arms and found a herald by the president of the Noble Society of Celts, which is a society that I belong to; you have to be a direct descendant from noble or royal Celtic blood to become a an actual member. So the president of the society introduced me to this herald who’s name is Andrew Stewart Jamieson, 1st Baronet; he is the best and leading heraldic artist in the world; he normally only works for royal families, but decided to take me, which is a great honor for me.
I finally told my mom after he had already started. I didn’t tell before because it was very expensive and I knew she would say no. Andrew had not only accepted me as his assistant but he cut the price in half. As you can imagine my mother was extremely upset with me for a while and almost was going to cancel the order. I finally explained why it would be a good thing if I had my own coat of arms and was a part of a this interesting community of people; thankfully the storm eventually blew over.
Now I have developed a friendship with Andy and he has allowed me to be a member of his new society that he has started; the only thing we really talk about is heraldry. So this experience has both been a screw up and a triumph.
