Overcoming Bullying

Print Posted by Quinn on 12 October, 2012

Wow is all I can say.

Once you watch this video you will never want to complain about ANY difficulties you have EVER again. He was born with no arms and no legs and endured bullying like many of us have never experienced. Honestly, out of all the amazing things that this guy can do the most inspirational thing  for me was watching him brush his teeth; I just found that this activity most of see as simple, and for him is much more complicated, was absolutely amazing. When I watched him talk and his daily routines I felt like I could do anything.

If you watch some of his other videos, the main point he tries to get across is that he doesn’t want you to feel sorry for him. My take away from this man's story is that you shouldn't let anybody feel sorry for you--it's not worth it. There have been times when I've witnessed bullying or heard other people talk about their bullying stories and there's usually a lot of pity in those stories. People who have been bullied are feeling bad for themselves.

I think this man's story is so powerful because he shows us that everything has the potential to make us stronger and wiser.
