I have just discovered a new song called Sail by the band Awolnation (A-wol-nation).  The song is about how the singer feels and believes the world sees him:  “Maybe I’m a different breed” he sings.



As you may be able to imagine, I can relate to this because I sometimes feel like a different breed, because I know that people view me as different when I think I am just acting normally. The singer starts off the song by saying “This is how I show my love.” To me that means that he shows his love in a different way, in a way one a may not normally show their love. When you have LDs this can be true of you too. That's not a bad thing, it can be really special.

There are two things that the artist talks about which really got my attention. When he sings, “Maybe I should kill myself” I thought about how I have been there before, and it is not an easy subject for me to talk about -- as it is not for anybody. 

The one thing that of course really got me was when he sings, “Maybe I should blame it on my ADD." Whether or not he has ADD I don’t know, but he sings the song as if he does, and as I said, I can really relate to it. It almost doesn’t matter if he has ADD or not, because he is singing about it in away that suggests that it is okay to have ADD or be different if you are, which is why I really like the song!
